Back of the box:
Claire Ward (Jane Sibbett) is perfectly willing to allow her hard-working
husband (Chris Sarandon) a hobby. But his frequent disappearances into
his family's old cabin in the woods -- and the creepy, putrid smells that
emanate from within -- have all the neighbors talking. Hiring a private
investigator to see what he's really up to, Claire does a bit of snooping on
her own. But the truth she uncovers is too horrible to believe.
The Bloody Truth:
Insane, macabre and full of “un-namable horrors” The Resurrected is a
creepy and interesting Lovecraft tale brought to the big screen.
The bloody truth is the film scores big in many areas but at the next turn is
also able to fall short with weak and dated production. If you can forgive
the shortcomings of the film, the characters and the many moments that
effectively bring the Lovecraft feel to the big screen should be enough to
win you over.
Not the best offering to date, but for fans of Lovecraft this is absolutely a
must see.
