Back of the box:

When a plane crashes in a small town, a secret biological weapon is
released. As the toxic substance infiltrates the local water system, some
residents become gravely ill, while others descend into homicidal madness.
Sheriff David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) attempts to set things straight, but
soon the military becomes involved in containing the killer virus. Breck
Eisner directs this chilling remake of George A. Romero's 1973 horror
classic
The Bloody Truth:

Well made and well paced from start to finish, The Crazies is bound to
please most horror fans.   Even if the events are predictable and classic
horror tricks are used at every turn, it just seems to create a familiar and
comfortable feeling while scaring the shit out of the lesser seasoned.

You can't take away from the fact that the film has a few, strong terror
inspiring moments and despite it's polished Hollywood look the film does
not pull many punches.

The Bloody Truth is, The Crazies is a rare quality horror film that hit US
theaters  and while it does not break new ground or compete toe to toe
with some foreign titles it's a fun watch and  a rare case of a good remake.
